Discover the wonders of the caliphate
2-Days Trip from Seville to Cordoba
Mon - Tue - Wed - Thu - Fri - Sat - Sun (Approximately 36 hours.)
Cordoba was the capital of the Caliphate of Cordoba during the Muslim period and one of the most important cities in the province of Betica during the Roman Empire, hence its great historical and cultural heritage. History has left in the city of Cordoba some architectural wonders such as the Alcazar, the Roman Bridge or the Jewish Quarter, but without a doubt the crown jewel is the great Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba.
In Seville you will be met by our guide and we will set off for Cordoba, where we will arrive in just over an hour and a half to begin an unforgettable visit. We will walk through one of the most beautiful environments in the world, through the most emblematic streets and the most important monuments of the city, learning about the history and cultural aspects of the city.
Through the narrow streets of the Jewish quarter we will visit the most beautiful Cordovan patios. These courtyards are full of details, colourful flowers with a unique aroma. They will also give us the opportunity to take beautiful photographs as a souvenir of this unforgettable excursion.
We will have time to enjoy the famous Cordovan gastronomy, where the good wine of the land and the typical Andalusian dishes of world fame such as salmorejo or rabo/cola de toro stand out. After a well-deserved break for lunch and some shopping if you wish, we will visit the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, with its unmistakable arches and columns.
This impressive monument became the second most important temple in the Muslim world after Mecca itself. Its naves, doors, ornamental details and endless rows of arches will leave no one indifferent. It is a journey back in time to be appreciated and savoured as it deserves, a feast for the senses.
You will have plenty of time to visit this monument, which has the UNESCO World Heritage designation and is one of the most visited in Spain. After a long day’s sightseeing, you will be able to relax in your hotel and recharge your batteries for another exciting day.
On the second day, you will have free time to discover other corners of the city of Cordoba, do some shopping or simply enjoy walking around the streets. At around 5 pm we will return to Seville, where we will arrive at around 7 pm, having enjoyed a wonderful escape.
