Caminito del Rey Private Tour

Explore one of the most famous routes in Andalusia

Caminito del Rey Private Tour

Tue - Wed - Thu - Fri - Sat - Sun (Approximately 4h)

Discover “El Caminito del Rey“, one of the most popular tourist routes in Andalusia in recent years. Walking along the paths made possible by the walls of the gorge is truly impressive. A tour in a unique natural setting, through an impressive path that crosses the Gorge of the Gaitanes, in the province of Málaga.

The name El Caminito del Rey dates back to 1921, when King Alfonso XIII crossed it after inaugurating the dam of the Count of Guadalhorce, a route covered by the Chorro Hydroelectric Society. With the passage of time and disuse, the road deteriorated and became the most dangerous in Europe, claiming several victims.

After a magnificent restoration, the Caminito del Rey was reopened in 2015 and is now perfectly safe to use, with a section built over the remains of the Chorro Hydroelectric Company.

The route runs between the Guadalhorce-Guadalteba reservoir, with sections only 1 metre wide, and the town of El Chorro. It is a walk parallel to the railway tracks, where you can walk and enjoy the famous route of the Gaitanes Gorge and the Gaitanejo.

The route starts in the municipality of Ardales and ends in Álora. The route is 7 kilometres long and lasts around two and a half hours, full of emotions and surprises.

A wonderful experience for nature lovers, with spectacular landscapes and stunning photographs to take.
