Guided tour of a winery in Jerez de la Frontera

Guided tour of a winery in Jerez de la Frontera

Mon - Tue - Wed - Thu - Fri - Sat - Sun (2 hours approximately)

Jerez de la Frontera is the largest city in the province of Cadiz and is also home to one of the world’s most famous designations of origin, “Jerez – Xérès – Sherry“. It is home to the Sherry Regulatory Council, which also has two other quite important and well-known denominations of origin such as “Manzanilla – Sanlucar de Barrameda” and “Vinagre de Jerez”.

Jerez’s relationship with wine is more than 3000 years old, as there are documents from the first century BC that accredit the Phoenicians as the ones who brought the first vines here, coinciding with the foundation of Gades, the current Cadiz.

In this guided tour in wineries we will know one of the wineries of the city. During the hour and a half tour, and accompanied by an official local guide, we will get to know the different parts of the beautiful and historical site where the winery is located. Its gardens and halls now host a multitude of events that take place in Jerez such as congresses, weddings or communions.

As we go through the different rooms where the casks are stored, we will learn about the process of making the different wines that are produced, with its unique system in the world of “solera and criadera”, and of course, to complete the visit we can enjoy a tasting of the most representative wines of this authentic cathedral of wine in Jerez.

Let’s enjoy!

All Around Great Tour Carlos was a wonderful guide. He incorporated what we wanted to see into the itinerary. He was very knowledgeable and lots of fun. He even helped me purchase train tickets to Madrid for the next day. Rhonda and the white villages were beautiful!

Birthday Tour Carlos was a great guide. We wanted to go on a wine tasting as well and they handled and coordinated it quickly and we added that into our day. It started to rain while we were at lunch and he parked as close as possible so we did not have to walk in the rain. He made the whole day very easy and enjoyable. I even paid a bit extra to have them pick us up at our home which was great as well.

Do not miss this memorable day in Andalucia! We saw three unique towns in the region highlighting the stunning scenery and varied agriculture associated with each. Our guide was Guido who shared facts, history, and distinctive character associated with the region. He was informed, thoughtful, and helpful. At one point, Guido guided a person in our group to a store and interpreted in the process of replacing lost contacts which were originally from USA - an amazing feat. Our family of 8 unanimously recommend this tour and Guido, our guide!
